Match Format: |
Basketball is conducted under the International Rules of Basketball as interpreted by the Victorian Basketball Association unless otherwise stated.
All Girls and Year 7 Boys will play with a size 6 basketball. Year 8, Intermediate and Senior Boys play with a size 7 ball.
Teams are allowed a maximum of 10 players in any particular game with a maximum of 15 players for the day.
Each team must provide a match ball, 1 competent timekeeper and 1 competent scorer.
If a team is late for the start of their match and, in the convener’s opinion, their lateness makes the draw impracticable, the team will be penalized one point per minute of lateness.
Scorers from both teams must sit together during their match and confer on scores. Where a discrepancy occurs between the score sheet and the scoreboard, the score sheet is regarded as the official scores.
One time-out is allowed per team in each quarter. No time-out in the last minute of the first 3 quarters.
The clock will not stop, except during the last 2 minutes of the final quarter when it will stop on all whistles.

Year 7 and Year 8 - 4 x 10 min quarters, 2 min quarter time breaks Intermediate and Senior - 4 x 12 min quarters, 2 min quarter time breaks

Referees will be provided for all matches where possible
Each team must provide a competent timekeeper and a competent scorer |
Winner: |
The champion team will be decided on the result of the match. In the event of a draw at the conclusion of full time 2 x 5min extra periods will be played. Coaches will be allowed 1 time out each period of extra time. The clock will stop on every whistle for the last minute of each extra period.

One match ball in good condition Each school must provide its own 1st aid kit; including ice packs

Lateness Penalty: |
If a team is late for the start of their match and, in the convener’s opinion, their lateness makes the draw impracticable, the team will be penalised 1 point per minute they are late up to half time when they will forfeit the match

Dress: |
All players must be uniformly attired with clearly and legally numbered singlet. Shorts must not have pockets in them. Teams are asked to bring an alternative set of tops in case of a clash with another team.

Any Other Details: |
The centre's canteen may be operating on the day. Change rooms are available. Food or drink other than water in a sports bottle must not be taken into the court area.
Any student that hangs from a ring, either during practice or during a game, will be required to leave the court area and will be unable to take any further part in the day's competition |
Format:
Round-robin
Match Format:
Matches consist of 2 x 15 minute halves with a 2 minute interval.
Foul shots to be taken from the full foul line.
No time-out in the last minute of the first half.
The clock stops on all whistles in the last three minutes of the second half.
No 24 second shot clock rule.
One time-out per team per half.
Officials:
Each school must supply a competent scorer and timekeeper.
The Convener will appoint referees.
Player Restrictions:
Teams are limited to 10 players per game, with a maximum of 15 players for the day.
Round Robin Winner:
If, at the end of the round-robin, two teams are tied on matches won, then the winner of their face to face match will be declared the winner. If their face to face match was a draw then percentage from all of their matches will be used to determine the winner.
If more than two teams are tied on matches won, percentage from the matches involving the other tied teams will be compared to determine a winner.
