Competition Format:

The competition shall be played under the 'Rules of Golf' except as altered by the local rules of

the Club, or as altered by the Convenor to suit special conditions which may apply.

The competition shall be of 18 holes of stroke play.

The competition shall consist of:      

a) Senior and Junior Championships for Boys and Girls;

b) Senior and Junior Handicap Event for Boys and Girls

c) Senior and Junior Teams event (Boys & Girls).

Entries: 

Each School may enter a teams of up to four players plus a further four individuals.

For Senior Individuals to qualify for the Region Finals they must shoot a score of 100 or less in their Division Final (50 or less if only 9 holes are played) or hold a current handicap of 20 or less.  For Junior Individuals to qualify for the Region Finals they must shoot a score of 110 or less in their Division Final (55 or less for 9 holes) or hold a current handicap of 30 or less.

For a Senior team to qualify for the Region Finals they must shoot a combined team score of 280 or less (140 if only 9 holes are played.)  For a Junior team to qualify for the Region Finals they must shoot a combined team score of 300 or less (150 if only 9 holes are played.) 

Tee-off Times:

Tee off times for all competitors will be from 9:00am until 10:45 am Competitors will be notified of their tee-off times prior to the day.

Team Score:                      

The best three scores count towards the team’s event.

Handicap:

Players wishing to be considered for the handicap event must bring proof of their handicap

Equipment:

All competitors are to provide all their own equipment

Each school must provide its own 1st aid kit; including ice packs

Etiquette:

The starter, the course referee and employees of the golf club will disqualify any player who does not play the game in the correct spirit. Players may be penalised for slow play.

Caddies:

Caddies may not be used.  Spectators are permitted, however, they may not carry a player's clubs or offer advice concerning the game

Dress:

All players, spectators and supervising staff must be appropriately dressed for a private golf club.

State Finals:

There is no Conference final for Golf. Teams and individuals will qualify directly for the State Final.

Barwon South Western Region will enter one Senior team of four players plus 6 individuals and, one Junior team of four players plus 6 individuals in the State Final.

Litter:

Lunch:

Players must carry their own litter or deposit it in rubbish bins provided.  Any player found littering the course will be immediately disqualified.

Players and staff should supply their own lunch and refreshments.
