Competition Format

Secondary

FORMAT:

Round Robin

ENTRY:

Direct to Region competition.   Hume entries are to be sent to the Region Coordinator Deb Anderson danders@fhs.vic.edu.au .  Students must be Under 21 on 31/12/2011.

MATCH FORMAT:

Triples competition, all girls all boys or mixed.  Teams may have an adult non playing skipper.  Draws, pools etc. will be communicated to schools soon after entries close.

For Round Robin matches, play will continue for 12 ends or 75 minutes, whichever comes first.

For Finals matches, play will continue for 15 ends or 90 minutes, whichever comes first.

A teacher or school council approved adult must be present to supervise each school, provided they adhere to Department student supervision regulations (They do not have to be the skipper but be there to supervise the students).

Matches in the round-robin section will be decided by ‘shots up’.  If a round robin match is tied, a draw will stand.

If, at the end of the round robin, two teams are equal on matches won, then the winner of their face to face match will be declared the winner.  If their face to face match was a draw, then total 'shots-up' will be used to determine the winner. If still tied, percentage ‘Shots For divided by Total Shots (where Total Shots equals Shots For + Shots Against)’ will be calculated using scores from all round-robin matches. If still tied, one extra end will be played to determine the winner.

If more than two teams are equal, then the winner will be determined by total 'shots-up' against the other tied teams.  If equal, then percentage Shots For divided by Total Shots (where Total Shots equals Shots For + Shots Against)’against the other tied teams.

DRESS & EQUIPMENT:

Shoes must be non heeled and non ripple soled.  Whites are preferred.  Schools must supply all their own equipment. Any player not appropriately attired, as listed, will not be permitted to participate.

TEAM SHEETS:

Competing teams must present a completed team sheet to the convener on the day before the start of round one competition.
