Training...Why do we need to push to the limit?

Your body adapts to meet the pressure that it is put under, if it is not challenged, it stays the same, and you have what I call, been involved in a pastime (you have been entertained). The traditional time we train is after work or school which means our bodies have an ever changing limit, if we have had a hard day. This still doesn’t mean that you completely drop the effort, because if you practice running slow you will perfect the slow running style and be great if they bring this in as an artistically judged event.

Should I feel dizzy or sick or be in pain at training?

If you do feel dizzy or sick after great efforts, you are pushing to the limit. If you go over the limit (not recommended) your body will automatically shut down, you might be sick, you might faint. You will feel pain and may have muscle soreness or other pains but your body then adapts to be stronger. Pain is different for everyone, no one can feel another persons pain so only you can be the judge of what is acceptable and what is abnormal. Abnormal pain is often felt in one part of a muscle, bone or joint and should be discussed with coach and with doctors/specialists.

Athletics develops strong people who can overcome great hurdles in life. If you fail at something you are one step closer to achieving it next time. If you never attempt it, you can’t possibly achieve it…….
