Frequently Asked Questions

What is interclub?
Interclub is the state wide track and field competition that is run weekly at a central location. Normally it is held at Santos Stadium in Mile End, but for the first part of the 2010/2011 season it is held at St Albans Reserve, Clearview - the home of Enfield Harriers Amateur Athletics Club. Clubs are represented by athletes who compete in a range of events and score points which lead to a Premiership. Age groups represented are U/14, U/16, U/18, U/20, Open, O/35 and O/50 for both males and females. Interclub is usually held on Saturdays at 12.30pm until 4pm and occasionally on Friday at 6pm.

How do I enter an event at interclub?
You may enter an event on the day interclub is held by filling the entry forms in the main building. Each event has a sheet on which you will need to fill in your name, club, age group and registration number. If you do not have your registration numbers on your first day, please see Athletics SA staff.

Am I good enough to compete at interclub? Is there a spot in the team for me?
Yes there is a spot in the Enfield Harriers Athletics team. Anyone can compete at interclub. Every registered athlete who finishes an event is eligible to score points for their club; however the point scoring system will mean that the last finishers in a large field of athletes won’t score points. At the end of the season the top four clubs in each age group compete for the Premiership in ‘Interclub Finals’ and only 2 athletes will compete and score points for the team. However, on these days there are ‘Reserve’ events in which anyone can compete, though event options are sometimes limited due to programming and the number of available officials.

How much does it cost to compete?
To compete an athlete needs to register with Athletics SA and an affiliated Club. By registering with Enfield Harriers, you are insured and eligible to compete in all Athletics SA competitions throughout the year (both summer and winter seasons). Full registration for an Open aged athlete is currently $268, for athletes Under 20 it is $218. Athletes who are registered Little Athletes or are from the country only pay $160 and Athletes with a Disability (AWD) $188.
