World Athletics Champs, Antarctica and Pizza!

How are these related? It just so happens that long-time athletics fan Stu Clement and former Masters Games shot putter Glenys Thompson sailed from South America to Antarctica earlier this year bringing back a brace of photos, memories and stories from their trip to the icy wilderness. They are willing to share these experiences with club members but like so many others do not want to miss out on watching the World Athletic Championships. So the club has organised a get-together at the clubrooms on Saturday 1 September at 19:00 (7pm) to see Stu's and Glen's Antarctica presentation and to then watch the World's.

Bring your own drinks - there will be no bar sales. Pizza will be ordered at 19:15 (7:15pm) so get there sharpish. If you don't wish to hear about penguins, leopard seals, ice and whales, come along later and watch the Worlds championships with your clubmates at the clubrooms!
