Tour of Gawler Fun run

Enfield Harriers had a good day out at the Tour of Gawler 5/10km fun run the other Sunday, it was a wet & windy day, as you might remember this was the same day as the Adelaide Marathon. Fortunately after pouring down before the races started, the rain stayed away for the duration of the fun run. Young Jack White managed to win the U/18 age group section for the 5km with a gutsy run in the conditions. Andrew McKay also managed to finish 3rd overall in the 5km against some formidable competition. Adam Zur Eich was fortunate finish 1st overall to take out yet another Tour of Gawler, by leading almost the whole race and just beating the lead 5km runner for in 1st lap of the 2 lap event.

A special mention should go to Ron & Betty O’Neill that managed to fit this event in to their busy race officiating schedule. This is the last fun run organised by an ASA club (Elizabeth AAC), that is still being held. So let’s hope that next year we can see another strong showing at this fun run which has been supported by Enfield Harriers
athletes for many years.
