Australian Athletics Cup

The inaugural Australian Athletics Cup will be staged at Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre, Nathan, Brisbane, Queensland, on 20 January 2007. Its state vs state as the best of the best put on their state colours to fight it out for supremacy for the Australia Cup. The Australian Athletics Cup is a National Series Meet and as such is a joint venture between the Brisbane Officials Club, Queensland Athletics and Athletics Australia.

The Australian Athletics Cup will be a team competition over 12 individual events and relays. The events to be contested in 2007 are:

Men: 100 metres, 200 Metres, 400 metres, 1500 metres, Shot Put, Javelin Throw (Mixed medley Relay
Women: 100 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres, 1500 metres, Long Jump, Pole Vault (Mixed Medley Relay)
Note: The Medley Relay will comprise two (2) Men and two (2) women from the selected athletes

Prize Money
Prize money to the value of $5000 will be available to the winning team.

This competition will be Meggan's first selection in an 'open' team and it is pleasing to see the rise of another EH junior into the senior ranks!
