Loy Yang B Encouragement Award




International Power/Mitsui Loy Yang B would like this award to encourage athletes to perform to the best of their ability even if medals are not achieved and to continue competing at Little Athletics year after year always striving to improve themselves in the sport.

The criteria for the award is as follows:

  • Athlete entered a minimum of three events for the Track & Field Championship
  • Athlete competed in full uniform
  • Athlete abided by the rules of the event
  • Athlete participated with patience
  • Athlete showed great sportsmanship
  • Athlete encouraged other competitors
  • Athlete showed enjoyment whilst participating in the events
  • Athlete did not complain or display a defeatist attitude
  • Athlete was not result orientated, but gave their all

Following the Loy Yang B Gippsland Country Region Track & Field Championship, Centre Committees can submit two names and the reasons why the each of the chosen athletes should be considered a worthy recipient of the Encouragement Award. The award recipient is chosen by a panel from within and outside the Region and will be presented with a Perpetual Trophy in front of their family and peers.
