In 1986 age 57 - competed in his 1st Melbourne Marathon.. He competed in 10 Marathons making him a member of the Melbourne Marathon Spartans Club. The title of Spartan is one of Melbournes running community most sought after titles.

 

1995 - His 1st Australian Masters Games - Silver - 1500mW & 100m hurdles

1997 - 2nd Australian Masters Games - Bronze High Jump & 1500mWalk

1999- age 70 - 3rd AsutralianMasters Games - Gold High Jump 1.16m. Silver - Triple Jump 7.15m & Pole Vault 1.40m
