GCR Junior Carnival (U6-U8 Athletes)

The Under 6-8 Junior Athletes Carnival will be held on Saturday 22nd February 2014 from 9.00am to 12.00pm. The event is open to all registered athletes who attend Centres in the Gippsland Country Region. The Carnival has been designed specifically for the youngest athletes to promote sportsmanship, friendship and participation in a non contact sport.
Children will compete in four events across the morning; 100m sprints, long jump, discus, shot put. At each event we will measure or time the athlete's attempts but we will be rewarding their participation and the effort they have committed to their run, throw or jump. All children will be treated equally and each will be presented with a ribbon at every event they try.
We will also have some extra special opportunities and friends join us on the day.
The Carnival will be held as the opening event for our Loy Yang B Gippsland Country Region Track and Field Championship so it is an excellent opportunity for families to entertain all of the children and enjoy a great family day.
