TRACK & FIELD COMPETITION DETAILS

Normal Centre competition is held Saturday mornings at the Eric Boardman Reserve, Mitchells Lane, Sunbury.

All children should be out in the high jump area, ready to participate in the competition warm-up at 8.30am.  The warm-up sessions are conducted prior to any competition by a qualified coach.

During the season it is necessary for the Centre to have competitions, which are classified as twilight meetings that start at 5.30pm. These meetings are listed in the Centre's Season Calendar listed in your Handbook.

On wet days a decision will be made by Officials setting up that morning as to whether we continue or cancel.

On very hot days the Committee will decide which events will be run from the program of the day. We will try to have athletes all doing an equal amount of events for points scoring purposes.

The success of Little Athletics relies heavily on parent participation. A roster system is used to determine officials for each meeting.  This is displayed outside the clubhouse with duties include timekeeping, measuring and recording. To run the program efficiently, at least one Committee Member is designated to each event with a number of parent helpers rostered to help run the event. Further volunteers are often needed due to absence/illness etc.

Please see a Committee Member should you wish to help on a more regular basis; this will be greatly appreciated.
