Most Outstanding Police Club Award

The Victoria Police Amateur Sports and Welfare Society (VPASWS) initiated this award which will be given annually to acknowledge the most outstanding achievements by a Victoria Police Club. This award is proudly presented by The Police Association Victoria.

Nominations are now open for 2022 and need to be submitted to the Sports Administrator by 18th July 2022. The nomination form can be found at the bottom of this page to download.

Past Winners of the Award are:

2019

Victoria Police Amateur Basketball Association for the organisation of a successful National Police Basketball Championship in Melbourne and their team success on the court, and for their efforts in the community with their visits to the Royl Children's Hospital & their involvement with the Africa Sports Day.

2018

Police Overseas Service Association Victoria for their continued work in recognising Victorian Police members who have served overseas and the establishment of honour boards at the Police Academy.

2017

Victoria Police Soccer Club was involved in three major events - the Ann Brimblecombe Cup, the Blue Ribbon Cup and the Tony Clarke Memorial Day amongst a multitude of other community events, raising funds, exposure & awareness and forging meaningful relationships within the community.

2016

Victoria Police Cycling Club for their amazing effort in raising over $40,000 for Police Legacy with their inaugural ride to the National Police Memorial, Canberra where several hundred family members and spectators attended a humbling memorial service. 

2015

Victoria Police Cricket Club for their outstanding efforts and foresight to create the 'Harmony in Cricket Cup' to enable the development of a union and friendship between Victoria Police and the Victorian Islamic community.  

2014

Victoria Police Soccer Club winning gold medals in the Open men's and women's, and over 40 men's outdoor competitions at the 2014 Australasian Police & Emergency Services Games - a record 7 medals at this level. 

2013

Victoria Police Soccer Club for the creation and delivery of the 'One World' Cup concept to celebrate diversity, inclusiveness and outstanding commitment to multiculturalism which included the development of a 5-a-side event between indigenous Australia and multicultural Australia.

2012

Victoria Police Soccer Club who won this year's Victorian Premier's award for 'Community Harmony' and their continuing outstanding efforts to make strong connections both locally and overseas with ethnic communities. 

2011

Victoria Police Basketball Association for hosting the Australasian Championships, and winning both the men's and women's Australasian titles in the 34 team competition.

2010

Victoria Police Soccer Club for sustained and ongoing achievement in raising funds; the development of partnerships with disavantaged and multicultural communities, and the high achievement in various soccer competitions.

2009

Victoria Police Football Club for outstanding success at the recent National Police Football Carnival finishing first among the states of South Australia, Western Australia, New South Wales, Tasmania and Queensland.

2008

Loddon District Police Trap Club for outstanding success at the 2007 Australasian Police Services Clay Target Championships winning the four major titles of the championships.

2007

Victoria Police Amateur Basketball Association for the outstanding achievements of both the men's and women's teams at national and international level during the past year.

2006

Victoria Police Soccer Club for their team success in Singapore and Holland; their outstanding development of soccer in local ethnic communities, and the creation of the 'Tony Clarke Memorial Day'.

2005

Victoria Police Swimming Team for their amazing double crossing of the 'English Channel' where they were the first ever police team to complete the return crossing.

2004

Victoria Police Woman's A Basketball Team for their sustained achievements at National level- undefeated 3 years in a row.

2003

Victoria Police Motor Sports Club for it's outstanding effort in conducting the ‘Blue Light Ride' and high placing's of club individual at both national and state level competitions

2002

Victoria Police Soccer Club for sustained performance at the 2001 ANZ Police Games, and the development of closer ties with the multicultural and indigenous communities.

2001

Victoria Police Golf Club for it's sustained and excellent performance in the challenge events during the year.

2000

Victoria Police Bowling Club for winning it's 3rd Australian Championship in four years.

1999

Victoria Police Soccer Club for winning the inaugural Carty-Forsyth Memorial Shield and the Tynan - Eyre Cup.

1998

Victoria Police Bowling Club for their outstanding performance at the Australian Police Bowls Championship.

1997

Victoria Police Cricket team for winning both the Mid-Week and national Titles.

1996

Victoria Police Basketball Association for their consistent performance in winning the men's and woman's Australian Police Basketball Championships

1995

Victoria Police Football Club for winning the 1995 Australian National Football Championships
