Allan Lindsay Jeans (1996)

Allan served with Victoria Police between 1958 and 1987, retiring at the rank of Senior Sergeant.

Allan coached 3 AFL Clubs namely St Kilda, Hawthorn and Richmond and 4 premiership teams - 1 with St Kilda (1966) and 3 with Hawthorn (1983, 1986 and 1989).

He coached Victoria in 1972 to win the Australian Football carnival championship and was also coach in 1984. 

He was the founding President of the Australian Football Coaches Association Inc. and was recognised as one of the games greatest coaches.

In addition, Allan received the National Police Medal; the Member of the Order of Australia; the Australian Sports Medal and the Centenary Medal.

 

Allan was inducted into the Victoria Police Sporting Hall of Fame in 1996.
