Raelee Thompson (1995)

Raelee joined the Victoria Police in 1971, and retired as a Senior Sergeant in 1990.

She played international women's cricket from 1972 to 1985. She was Captain of Australia in the 1984/85 Test series against England in which Australia won 2 tests to 1. She took 18 wickets for the series with her best figures being 5 for 33 in the fifth test.

She was a member of the Australian team which won the World Cup in India in 1979 and New Zealand in 1982. Raelee played in 16 test matches and took 57 wickets.

She also played for Victoria from 1979 to 1987. Her best bowling performance was 8 wickets for 31 runs, including a hat-trick against New South Wales.

Raelee also served as an Australian and Victorian womens cricket selector and is currently Victoria's women's cricket delegate to the Australian Women's Cricket Council.

 

Raelee was inducted into the Victoria Police Sporting Hall of Fame in 1995.
