  • Registration information

It is important for every member to register whether they are players or officials.

On-line registration has been available to the WHA since March 2014.

The WHA has gained many benefits from this new system, particularly with a streamlined approach to administration, registries and payments.

    • Why Register?

      • Insurance coverage can depend on registration

      • Provides accurate information for use in results, reports, statistics and member profiles

      • Provides the WHA and Hockey Victoria with accurate statistics and information which helps towards assessment, planning and promotion purposes, and accessing grants and other benefits – this includes non-financial members

    • Who Needs to Register?

      • Players (senior, U16, U12)

      • Officials (executives, umpires, non-executive, coaches, team managers, technical officials, Working With Children Check holders, etc)

      • Life Members are automatically registered, although registration details should be updated regularly

      • Supporters can also register as ‘non-financial’ members.

    • When must I register?

      • Members must register prior to stepping foot onto the turf, or upon taking on an official position, to be covered for insurance purposes.

      • Registrations can be made from February of each season.

      • Updating prior registrations – use your password and login details to renew registrations, or update your details.

    • On-line Registration

      • On-line registration was new to the WHA in 2014 although it was adopted statewide from 2013. 

      • Why register on-line?

        • Registering on-line is quick and easy for the member

        • Registration can be completed prior to the season from any internet connection, relieving some pressure from hurried registering at venues

        • Registering on-line enters information directly into a WHA database of information which can be used for various records, results, and for Hockey Victoria to use various statistics to help in the growth of hockey.

        • On-line registrations allows member access to their own WHA history profile at the click of a button (when this phase of the website is ready).

      • What information do I need to provide?

        • Membership type (player, official, life member, supporter)

        • Personal information such as First Name, Middle Initial, Surname, Maiden or Other Names, Date of Birth, Address, Email, Phone Number, Mobile Number.

        • Club registering with (Dimboola, Horsham, Kaniva, Nhill, Warracknabeal, Yanac)

        • Permission if Under 18

        • Acknowledge that you have read and agree to abide by the WHA By-Laws

        • Acknowledge that you have read and agree to abide by the Hockey Victoria Codes of Behaviour

        • Images permission.  WHA requests that all members tick for permission for WHA to use photos/images of yourself.  Anyone not allowing for photos to be published must be aware that they will not be able to be in ANY photos, which includes any team photos, presentations photos, etc.  This also refers to any video footage which may be taken.

        • Note that completing this on-line registration form is equivalent to signing a hard copy registration.

        • Registration declaration: that by registering with the WHA you agree to abide by the rules, acknowledge  that information given is correct to your knowledge

      • What does the information get used for?

        • WHA records, statistics, and member profiles

        • WHA promotion including but not limited to results, reports, and photos which may be published in but not limited to local newspapers, the Mail Times, the WHA website, WHA newsletters, and WHA Season Round Ups. 

        • Hockey Victoria statistics for assessment and promotion

        • Email addresses provided can be used by the WHA to notify members of any information requiring immediate attention

        • Hockey clubs may use various information for club purposes such as accessing their member data and keeping up-to-date with their own members’ financial status.

      • What information gets published?

        • Published material generally includes basic information such as photos, first and last names, divisions, age where appropriate.

        • Personal information such as birthdates is not published as a general rule unless particularly relevant.

      • Who has access to my information?

        • Hockey Victoria representatives.

        • WHA system administrator

        • WHA executives and non-executive members with necessary clearance

        • Individual Members have access to view and update their own personal information only, via a user name and password upon registration.

        • Club administrators – only one or two with access at a time.

        • Access levels vary depending on viewing and editing requirements.

      • Who runs the website?

        • WHA’s website is powered by IMG Sports Technology Group.  IMG provides these websites to many types of sporting organisations to create workable, accessible, user-friendly websites.  IMG provides various support to help in the managing of these websites.

        • The WHA website has been organised and provided for by Hockey Victoria as a part of a statewide website program for hockey associations, since season 2013.

        • Wimmera Hockey Association has bought its own domain name for this site which allows easier and greater access to the WHA’s website, address being www.wimmerahockey.com.au

        • WHA members are responsible for maintaining and updating the website, with the help of Hockey Victoria and IMG support.

      • How secure is the website?

        • IMG boasts secure websites which also have the benefit of no outside advertising.

        • Members can access only what their access level is granted via a user name and password which should be changed regularly to help maintain security.

        • IMG does not pass on personal information to any other organisations.

      • What happens in the event of misuse?

        • Any misuse of data or information or attempt at misuse will result in immediate removal of access

        • Appropriate tribunal hearings, legal action and prosecution may be undertaken depending on severity.

    • What happens after I register?

      • Your club will assess your financial status.

      • You will be eligible to play and/or be involved

      • Your registration details will form part of a WHA database for administrative purposes.

      • You will receive your own on-line user name and password via email which will allow you to update your own on-line personal information only as well as view your own personal member statistics and information.

      • Your season begins.

    • Continuing and Updating Registration

      • Members can renew their registration prior to the new season by using their password and login details previously used.  If a member has forgotten their password click on 'forgot password' and an email should be sent to your previously supplied email address - note, the link will only remain valid for within 24 hours for security purposes.
      • Members can update their registration details at any time on-line, by logging onto the WHA site with their personal user name and password.  Otherwise, contact your club secretary to help you.

      • If no renewal is given, your registration will lapse.
