SPECTACULAR SANDOWN

ONTRACK ENTERTAINMENT

The Getaway Plan

Melbourne’s hottest young rock band The Getaway Plan will be performing their hit singles ‘Streetlight’ and ‘Where the City Meets the Sea’ from their debut album “Other Voices, Other Rooms” in a one off performance on Monday 9 June. Hailing from Melbourne, The Getaway Plan have been praised for the rapid rise from their teenage punk rock beginnings to the forefront of the Australia’s independent rock scene – The Getaway Plan are sure to get the crowd pumping and the drivers ready to go racing as they rock the track before the final and deciding race of the V8 Supercar Championship Series round.

 CAPA Stunt Team

Professional stunt riders MATT MINGAY and ROBBIE BOLGER are back to perform some of the most dangerous and spectacular stunts ever performed on a motorcycle or in a car. Featuring no-handed wheelies, +100km/h stoppies and wheelie burnouts. You can also catch them out on track in their V8 Utes performing nose-to-nose circle work and punishing their tyres with synchronised burnout displays. Make sure you cheer them on as they smoke’em up!

Raceline Drift Display

One of the most exciting ways to race around the track is sideways! These hi-tech turbo-boosted rides amazingly drift in and out of corners smoking up the back tyres - all while reaching speeds well over 140km/h. A1 Exhaust and Fulcrum Suspension proudly present the RACELINE DRIFT DISPLAY who are here to show V8 Supercar fans just what these fast and furious cars can do.

The Aussie Bandit Wheelstander

Presented by Raceline see this wild, wacky and completely insane machine perform ‘wheelies’ whilst reaching speeds in upwards of 150km/h down the straight. Perched high on his back wheels NIGEL “THE AUSSIE BANDIT” BENSON shows off the 1700hp Supercharged Methanol Injected Big-Block Holden Ute that produces a sound that has to be heard. This is definitely a spectacle not to be missed – but be warned it moves fast!

Armygeddon

As the name suggests, ARMYGEDDON is ground shaking and awe inspiring and is in fact Army’s very own street machine. The custom-modified 6x6 900hp Land Rover can do what other burnout vehicles can only dream about - driving any wheel, or wheels, while holding the others still. Watch out for the plumes of smoke and the massive roar as Armygeddon shreds the rubber with it’s famous 4 wheel burnout.

Sandown Superstreet Show

Sandown once again hosts a fantastic display of over 250 street machines in the trackside display on Sunday and Monday behind the main grandstand. RACELINE presents for the the 3rd year running some of the best street machines on offer including customs, classics, hot rods, historics, Aussie V8's, hi-tech and import cars. Trophies are awarded to the best vehicles of the weekend so make sure you get down and pick your favourite.

Castrol Aviator

Look up in amazement as Pip Borrman pushes his Edge 540 to the vertical limit.  The Castrol Aviator Edge 540 is the only plane like it in Australia and the only one worldwide that was built from a kit! This carbon fibre, 300hp, aerobatic stunner is one that cannot be missed although it is sometimes hard to keep up with! With a top speed of 240 knots (386km/hr), a climbing capacity exceeding 4000 feet per minute and a roll rate of 420 degrees per second, Pip performs some of the most heart-stopping aerobatic manoeuvres. Be sure to be looking to the skies when Pip makes a special aerial performance on Monday just before Race 3!
