Tine Rasmussen of Denmark hopes the luck that a
birthday brings will give her a big present when she
sets out as one of the favorites in the ladies singles
event of the 2007 Bingo Bonanza Philippine Open
Badminton Championships on July 18-22 at the
Philsports Arena in Pasig City, Metro Manila.

At No. 13 in the latest world ranking, Rasmussen turns
28 in the penultimate playdate of the Open, where she
hopes to remain standing in a bid to gain a crack at
the championship.

Rasmussen, who saw action in the 2004 Olympic Games in
Athens and lost to Petya Nedelcheva of Bulgaria in the
round of 32, last won in the Swedish International in
2006.

She reached the semis in last year’s Denmark Open and
made it to the Last 16 in the Indonesia Super Series
and reached the quarterfinal round of the Singapore
Super Series last May.
