Message From Philippine Badminton Association

A Happy New Year to you all!

 

The Philippine Badminton Association will start 2006 with a landmark tournament : the Philippine Open.  This is the first time that a Philippine badminton event has become an official leg of the international badminton circuit, having been designated by the International Badminton Federation (IBF) as a four-star event.

 

Because the Philippine Open is a part of the 2006 IBF tournament calendar, we expect top badminton players from around the world to come and compete for the prize money, for the ranking points, and for the glory, but not necessarily in that order.  Watch these foreign masters mix it up with our very own top players in five events – Men’s and Ladies’ Singles, Men’s and Ladies’ Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.

 

On behalf of the Philippine Badminton Association, we would like to thank the various groups who have put the Philippines in the global badminton map through this event.  Most especially, we would like to thank Bingo Bonanza for being the primary sponsor of the tournament.
