Representatives return from National Championships

 

Tarack Chappell and Luke Randle - Qld U13 Boys

Tarrack and Luke have just returned from the National Championships in Melbourne from 28/9/13 to 5/10/13 with the team finishing 4th.  These boys were fortunate to also be involved in training sessions with the Qld Blades team and watch the AHL games. Well done Tarrack and Luke for making Maryborough and Qld proud. 


Rebecca Greiner - Qld U15 Girls

Rebecca has just returned from the National Championships in Busselton in WA from 28/9/13 to 5/10/13.  This team did extremely well to finish in 2nd spot behind behind NSW.  Congratulations Rebecca!

 

Erin Crick, Kim Bristow, Myra Reilly, Diane Fraser, Lyn Bray - Qld Masters Women

These players competed in their respective age divisions at the National Championships in Adelaide from 28/9/13 to 5/10/13. 

Erin Crick - was a member of O35s team who won the Gold Medal.  This team played NSW in the final with the score ending at 2-2.  A Penalty Shoot out was then needed to determine who would win the Gold. Erin was selected to take one of the Penalty Shoot outs and her brilliant skills made it look easy to successfully score a goal. Well done Erin!

Kim Bristow - O50s team also won the Gold Medal.  A Penalty Shoot out was also necessary as the final result was a 1-1 with NSW. Kim's team was also awarded the Hockey Australia 'Play the Whistle' award.

Myra Reilly, Diane Fraser, Lyn Bray - O55s team who finished 4th after being defeated by NSW 2-1.  Myra was selected in the O55s Australian Team to complete in the England Test Series in May 2014.  Well done! This team was also awarded the Hockey Australia 'Play the Whistle' Award.

  

Drew Harold, Mark Kroning, John Patterson, Malcolm Lindsay and Denis Kettle - Qld Masters Men

These players competed in their respective age divisions at the National Championships in Sydney from 28/9/13 to 5/10/13. 

Drew Harold - competed for WA Country in the O35s and placed 6th.

Mark Kroning - competed in the O50s Div 1 and placed 5th.

John Patterson and Malcolm Lindsay - competed in the O50s Div 2 and were joint winners with WA.

Denis Kettle - competed in the O60s Div 1 and placed 4th.

It is great to see so many of our Vets players competing at this high level.

 

Ian Warren and Rosely Giddey - Officials

Ian Warren was the O35s Assistant Coach of the Qld team who competed at the National Masters Mens Championships in Sydney.   

Rosely Giddey - has just returned from the National Masters Womens Championships in Adelaide as an Australian Selector for teams to travel England and Europe in 2014. 

We are fortunate to have people like Ian and Rosely to officiate at this high level.
