State Combined Event Championships - 2023/2024
We'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate our athletes who competed at the State Combined Event Championships at Lakeside Stadium. It takes a significant amount of perseverance to compete at your best over multiple events, so we're very proud of all their efforts!
There were some excellent results, an abundance of personal bests and some near misses, but as always, our athletes showed great sportsmanship towards their teammates and competitors.
A special congratulations goes out to Deng Agook (U15B) who walked away with the Bronze medal after finishing 3rd overall. This is a wonderful achievement!

A big thanks to all our parents who performed duties, our amazing team managers Paivi, Jodie and Sophie, to Scott who spent all weekend on the timing, and to Richard who took so many great photos of our athletes. We couldn't do this without you!

The State Combined Event Championships are on this weekend at Lakeside Stadium, and we wish our 28 athletes competing the best of luck!
The Parent Duty Roster for the weekend can be found here. Please take a moment to check your allocation and then email a confirmation by 7pm Friday night to confirm your duty. If your child is competing on both days, please check both carefully.
A few things to remember;

Please check-in at the Mentone table 15 mins before your duty - don't go straight to your duty.

Please wear closed-toed shoes and avoid using your phones whilst on duty - no photography.

These events can't be held without your help, we appreciate your assistance. Not performing your allocated duty can put unfair pressure on other families and may result in the forfeiture of your Parent Duty bond. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out prior to the weekend.
For additional information in relation to the day, please check the below;
Some important points to keep in mind are:

Field events will not use a call room but will marshall at one of 3 marshalling points. All Long Jump events will marshall on the outside of the track along the back straight. Shot Put and Javelin events will marshall just inside Gate 1 near the Canteen. Discus and High Jump events will marshall outside the track near the 1500m start point.

For the Track events, there is a call room, located at the 100m start end, next to the VIS building. When called to marshall for any track event, all athletes are to report to the Track call room, and they will be escorted from there to the start of their race.

All athletes must be at their relevant call room/marshalling point 30 minutes before their first event of each day. For subsequent events throughout the day, an announcement will be made when each Age Group/Group Letter is to report to the call room/marshalling points.

Athletes will not receive an event patch, and they do not have an athlete check-in. Athletes are required to wear their full Centre uniform (Mentone top, black shorts), a Coles badge sewn onto your uniform top and your weekly Registration patch with Commonwealth Bank on it.

We will set up in the stand along the front straight - look for the Mentone teardrop banners.

Please arrive with plenty of time to park and don't forget to pay for parking. Please check-in with our Team Managers when you arrive.
