The South Australian Little Athletics Association offer Country and Metropolitan Schools at no cost the choice of participating in our ‘Athletic Games Circuit’ Program or the ‘LAPS' Skills Development Program.

The ‘Athletic Games Circuit’ Program will include:

  • Introduction
  • Warm Up
  • Sprint
  • Long Jump
  • Hurdles / Relay
  • Shot Put / Turbo Jav.

The ‘LAPS' Program will cover the following range of activities:

Students 5, 6 & 7 years - Introduction to basic movement and athletic coordination skills.
Students 8, 9 & 10 years - Basic athletic skills in running, jumping and throwing.
Students 11, 12 & 17 years - Coaching of athletic events upon request.

Currently 38 Little Athletic Centres are linked to Schools. Any Country or Metropolitan Schools wishing to experience the benefits of linking with their nearest Little Athletics Centre can do so by telephoning Pam Sard at the Association Office on 8352 8144.

Professional Development:

In addition to the above Programs developed to provide Fun, Fitness and Skill based activities for students of all ability levels, the Little Athletics Association offer any Country or Metropolitan School the opportunity to complete a ‘C’ Grade Officials Course or an Introductory to Coaching Course. These courses can be conducted at your school provided you can guarantee at least eight participants or by joining Courses programmed in the Association Education Program at a near Little Athletics Centre or Link Centre.

SEPEP Athletics Program - Booklets are available from S.A. Little Athletics to assist teachers and schools to deliver Little Athletics within the school curriculum using the Sport Education in Physical Education Program (SEPEP).

Bookings will be made on a ‘first in’ basis and will cater for students from Reception to Year 12.
