Congratulations to all Athletes and Centres who participated in the 2011 Little V Road Relays. A wonderful sunny morning, combined with the magnificent surrounds of the historic Flemington Racecourse, meant that it was a very memorable event with some outstanding performances recorded. With the event run in conjunction with the Athletics Victoria 10km and 3km road races, it was a great opportunity for the athletes to compete alongside some of Victoria's best senior competitors. A special mention and congratulations to Werribee Little Athletics Centre who were awarded the 2011 Little V Road Relays Trophy for their efforts in entering multiple teams as well as their strong performances on the day. With this presentation, as well as all placegetters presentations, being conducted in front of the iconic statue of Pharlap, it certainly presented an opportunity for some fantastic photos. Little Athletics Victoria would like to say a big thank-you to Centres, Team Managers, Parents and Athletes for their organisation and contribution to this unique event. In particular, we would like to commend the Geelong Little Athletics Centre who kindly cancelled their Cross Country Open Day so they could support this event. It really is pleasing when Centres show this sort of dedication and kindness.
Further, Little Athletics Victoria would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication put in by our Officials on the day who strived to provide the safest environment possible for the Athletes and Team Managers.
We hope to see everyone continue their involvement in the Winter Cross Country season by competing at the 2011 State Cross Country Championships at Buninyong Community Facility (Ballarat) on Sunday 3 July 2011.
