Welcome to the Athletics Australia Officials' Website!

Athletics events do not run themselves. Any country with a competition programme will need Technical Officials to conduct competitions according to the rules and ensure that athletes have every chance of achieving their best performance.

As the standard of competition rises, more highly trained Technical Officials will be required. It is Athletics Australia’s responsibility to make sure that Technical Officials are recruited, trained and given the necessary structure and support to perform their duties.

Athletics Australia Officials volunteer their time and expertise to ensure the quality and fairness of competition in the areas of Track and Field, Cross Country, Race Walking and Road Running events.

This section has been designed for Athletics Australia Officials, for those who wish to become Officials and for those who are organising athletics events.                     

Australia has conducted several successful international competitions over the last few years - Olympic and Paralympic Games, World Grand Prix finals and the Commonwealth Games to name just a few - and the officials have had the best seats in the house!
