Mark Wheatley is top of the Ladder

After winning the Open Pairs and making the finals of the Open Singles, Wyong's Mark Wheatley is top of the Open Bowler of the Year ladder. With the BCC Fours, Triples, Pairs and Singles now completed the only further Bowler of the Year points available are for the Champion of Club Champion Singles and Pairs and for reaching the semi-finals or higher in the State Championship. While the ladder will be kept up to date, it will not be published with any further changes this year until the BCC 2018 Presentation Night.

Presidents Reserve Singles Goes Down to the Wire

Ourimbah RSL’s Mark Cummings and Bateau Bay’s Brendan Wrice played out an arm wrestle over the closing stages of the final of the Presidents Reserve Singles played at Terrigal BC on Sunday 18th March. Cumming’s led throughout the first half of the game but Wrice slowly pegged him back to take the lead 26-25 in their quest to reach the magic 31. It was an arm wrestle over those closing ends with Cummings picking up a vital two for a commendable 31-28 title win. Both players are to be congratulated on a high standard game of draw bowl befitting of a final.

Morrison Captures His Second Blue Ribbon Single’s Title

Terrigal’s Darren Morrison had too many shots in the bag in defeating Wyong’s Mark Wheatley 31-18 in the final of the Central Coast Singles championship played at Terrigal BC on Sunday 18th March. It was his second prestige blue ribbon Singles Championship title having previously won it in 2015. Morrison jumped away to a match winning lead of 17-3 before Wheatley settled into his strong drawing game but whenever he held multiple shots Morrison’s accurate on shots constantly converted the head back in his favour.

Second Consecutive Senior Singles Title in Two Years

Senior State Representative player John Roberts (JR) from Ettalong Memorial BC out played Terrigal’s Tony Shoebridge 31-19 in the final of the 2018 Central Coast Senior Singles Championship played at Terrigal BC on Saturday 17th March.
