Horsham Hockey Club

Horsham Hockey Club (HHC) consists of 4 teams: Hurricanes (men), Jets (women), Bombers (Under 16 Mixed Team) and Black Hawks (Under 12 Mixed Team) . We also run a beginners program based in Horsham only for children aged 5 to 11 (Hook in2 Hockey).

Our club originated from the Horsham Women’s Hockey Association which commenced in 1951 and ceased in 1974 when the Wimmera Hockey Association (WHA) was formed. We continue to be part of this Association.

The association consists of teams from Kaniva, Yanac, Nhill, Dimboola, Warracknabeal and Horsham. All games are held at a single location each week, with the weekly venues being rotated between the 6 towns. Our season runs from mid march to mid September.

The Horsham Hockey Club colours are Black and Red.The Men and Juniors have black shirts with red trim, Women wear black body suits with red trim, white numbers and our club logo printed in white. The Under 12 wear polo shirts that are red with black trim and black numbers

As a club, we welcome members of all ages and ability levels, and our members/supporters range from grandparents, families, young adults and children.

In addition to the regular home and away games, our senior and junior players also play in our association representative teams that compete at events such as Country Week (held in Melbourne and Geelong) and the South West games. We see this as important in the development of our members. Individuals also are encouraged to aim high to participate and try out at zone and state levels. We have had club representatives be selected for State Veteran Teams and play in the Australian Masters and World Masters Tournaments. We see this as important part in the development for both young and older members.

Prospective members:

Our teams participate in the Wimmera Hockey Association. We have four teams entered in the association, one in each of the Men’s, Women’s and Mixed U16 and Mixed U12.

There is synthetic surface in Dimboola. Horsham Hockey Club have our home games at Dimboola. We also play on a rotational basis between Kaniva, Yanac, Dimboola, Nhill and Warracknabeal.
