Player Nominations for Masters World Cup 2018

 

On line registration for player nominations for the 2018 Hockey Australia Women's Masters Teams are open, closing Monday 4 September.  The link for nominations is https://wc2018.eventdesq.com/

The Masters World Cup will be held in Terrassa, Spain from Friday 27 July to Sunday 5 August 2018.

Teams (17 players including 2 x GKs) will be selected at the 2017 National Masters Championships to be held in Newcastle Friday 29 September to Saturday 7 October in the following age divisions - Over 35s, Over 40s, Over 45s, Over 50s, Over 55s, Over 60s.
Australian Women's teams to compete at the World Cup will be determined by entries received in each age category.    
All age groups will be selected in Newcastle in anticipation of all divisions competing.  Should World Cup entry into any age group become nonviable, age groups may be combined, or an alternative Australian tour may possibly be sourced by HA Women’s Masters Council.
Teams are selected on merit and players must be age eligible which is determined by the age as at 31 December 2018 (eg. to be selected in the Over 45 team players must be turning 45 or older in 2018).
Pre-tournament training in Barcelona or Terrassa will be organised for all teams on the days prior to commencement of the tournament and all players and their team officials must be in attendance for all training sessions.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION for consideration when nominating:
The Australian Women's Contingent commitment will be from Saturday 21 July until Monday 6 August 2018.
Terrassa is approx 35km from Barcelona.  It is expected to be hot.
All contingent players and officials are required to meet at the accommodation in Barcelona on Saturday 21 July. 

Air travel arrangements to and from Barcelona are the responsibility of selected players and officials at their own expense. If selected in an Australian team, players and officials must be aware of their commitment to the required times as outlined.

All selected players and appointed officials will be required to stay at the accommodation booked by HAWMC.  Suitable team transport will be organised.
             
Participation is at player’s full expense and anticipated cost is $2,500 which includes accommodation, entry fee, training, team transport, official dinners and team levy. 
Uniform is an additional expense.

Nominations close 11pm (AEST) Monday 4 September 2017. No late nominations will be accepted after 4 September.
