Become a Qualified Umpire or Tech Bench Official

By becoming a qualified Umpire or Tech Bench official through the National accreditation program, Hockey Ed, it unlocks more avenues into the sport. Umpires and Tech bench officials also have the opportunity like elite players to travel to National and International tournaments to perform their roles.

On top of the extra doors it opens in our sport it is also a great way to earn an extra income on the weekends. Accredited umpires who join Hockey SA’s panel can receive payment for umpiring Premier League, Metro 1 and Under 18 matches, while Tech Bench Officials can also be paid for Premier League matches. You can also fulfil weekend duties of other club members not wishing to do their individual club allocation.

For any members or affiliated supporters of the Woodville Hockey Club, we will also reimburse the cost of any accreditation successfully completed through the Hockey ED program and the applicant completing duties for the Woodville Hockey Club and/or its members.
