Thomas to Spearhead Tas Team

Athletics Tasmania would like to congratulate the following athletes on their selection to represent the state at the National Half Marathon Championships, held in conjunction with the Blackmores running festival, in September.

Male: David Thomas, Chris Sullivan, Jay Gordon, David O’Brien, Roscoe McDonnell and Mark Hinder.

Female: Lynsey Maher.

An additional nomination has been received and will be added to our team if they have registered with Athletics Tasmania by the closing date for team entries. 

Reigning Tasmanian cross-country champion Thomas has elected to compete at this event rather than the Australian Cross Country Championships in Albany, he finished in bronze position last year at Symmons Plains.  

The athletes all performed underneath the required qualifying time of 90 minutes for males and 105 minutes for females.
