STATE CROSS COUNTRY AND WALKS TEAM HEADS WEST

After being part of a successful home staging of the Telstra Australian Championships at Pontville and Elwick last year, the Tasmanian Cross Country and Road Walking team heads to Perth, Western Australia this weekend for this year’s edition.

The team will take part in a busy three days which includes the staging of the Australian championships, along with the School Sport Australia secondary and primary cross country events and the national road walking titles.

AT President Brian Roe said that the Association was very happy to see a team representative of the whole state, with many schools and clubs represented.

“We are also pleased that the team is a large one despite the championships being staged in Western Australia. Sixty six athletes is a very strong representation for us,” Mr Roe said.
