LAVic Good Friday Appeal 2012

A small band of dedicated volunteers of Little Athletics Victoria descended onto Etihad Stadium on Friday 6th April to prepare for the arrival of the masses as part of the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

Our Interactive site was again popular with children eager to complete our revamped site of a mini On Track circuit before racing down the running track to add their time their ticket. The coloured hairspray and face painting were also very popular with queues from 10am until 4pm when we closed down the site.

Our Mascots Vicky & Victor were swamped by the kids and their visit to the hospital brought many smiles to the children they visited while handing out show bags. They caught up with Ronald McDonald with much laughter at their antics together.

Our live cheque presentation of $54,152.13 at 3.40pm with 15 athletes from the Frankston Centre (Most Money Raised) was certainly the highlight of the day. Being our 40th year we certainly shined with our biggest cheque to date and raising a total of $1128 on the day every Centre that participated is to be congratulated on this achievement.
