Tassie's flying in Finland

A silver and two bronze medals were won by Tasmanians over the weekend at the World Masters Athletics Championships in Finland.

W35 Suzy Cole fought a close battle in the 800m with her silver medal performance of 2m22.09s just behind the winning time of 2m21.32s. Suzy was well outside her W35 Tasmanian open record of 2m16.61s set in April this year.

W60 Kate Johnson and M60 Alan Coleman won bronze in their respective 100m races, setting new Tasmanian residential records of 15.41s and 12.66s in the process.

On Monday M60 Alan Coleman equalled his Tasmanian residential record of 26.46s in the 200m semi to go on to run fourth in the final with 26.47s.

The World Masters Athletics Championships continue until 8th August.”
