Tassie Teams for National Cross Country Champs Announced

After nearly 2500 young athletes participated in the Tasmanian All Schools Cross Country Chamnpionships at Symmons Plains during the last fortnight, Athletics Tasmania has announced the selection of its teams to compete in the School Sport Australia and Australian Cross Country Championships to be held in Victoria next month.

The titles which will be contested at Geelong on 23 August will also incorporate the National Primary Cross Country Exchange and the Australian Under 20 and Open Cross Country Championships.

AT President Brian Roe said that the Association was very happy to see a strong team selected from throughout the State.

“This is a very busy year for our younger athletes with the Pacific School Games also being staged, so we are delighted that 75 athletes have accepted a place in this team,” Mr Roe said.
