Daniel Coleman honoured with Athletics South award

At the Athletics South presentation night on Friday 23 May, top junior walker Daniel Coleman was award the Athletics South Mens Under 20 - Athlete of the Year Award.

This is further recognition of Daniel's outstanding season in 2007/2008 which saw Daniel victorious in Tasmanian and Australian Championships and reaffirm his ranking as Australia's top junior in events up to 10km.

Daniel's move to Canberra to work with his coach has paid dividends and enhanced Daniel's performances.  Whilst recent successes including his top Commonwealth and personal best time in the World Cup Junior 10km event were not included within the selection deliberations (these will be considered for 2008/2009) this but demonstrates Daniel's continued climb up the competition ladder.
