Tasmanian Distance Runner of the Year Series

The Tasmanian Distance Runner of the Year Series officially begins this weekend with the running of the ‘Pace Financial Services Round the River Run’ in Hobart.

With fun runs around the world experiencing record numbers of participation, Tasmania has been no exception in recent times.

“The great thing about a fun run, is that anybody can take part.  It’s about achieving personal goals, not necessarily winning races or taking home the prize money, which is why thousands of people are taking part.  Walking and running remains the simplest forms of exercise and Tasmanian’s continue to be spoilt with numerous healthy community events to participate in throughout the state,” Athletics Tasmania Development & Marketing Coordinator, Richard Welsh said.

The nine race series includes;
