Athlete of the Year

Athletics Tasmania today revealed the nominees for its Athlete of the Year Awards for 2012-13.
AT President Brian Roe said that the winners will be announced at the annual Awards Night to be held in Hobart on Saturday 25 May.
"We are over the moon with the depth of talent we have in Tasmania at this time, as can be seen from the quality of the nominees. The task of the judges will be very difficult," Roe said.
"When you consider that included amongst the nominations are a Paralympic champion, an Olympic semi finalist, a Stawell Gift winner, Australian representatives across the board from track and field to cross country and mountain running, as well as a stack of national champions and medallists, it is pretty impressive."
Mr Roe said that winners would be chosen by an independent panel chaired by Athletics Australia Statistician and Historian, Paul Jenes OAM.
