Kenzie qualifies for IPC World Championships

Talented Devonport 16 year old, Deon Kenzie has bettered the Oceania and Australian open, under 20 and under 18 1500 metres records in the T38 class for athletes with a disability.  The North West Athletics Club member who has mild cerebral palsy recorded a time of 4.15.37 at yesterday's Penguin club competition. He took 9.15 seconds off his previous personal best and each of the records which all stood in his name.

Most importantly the time also qualifies Kenzie for selection for this year's IPC Open World Championships in Athletics to be held in Lyon, France in July.  A good back up performance at the Australian Championships in Sydney in April should secure him a place in that team.
