ATHLETE OF THE YEAR AWARDS TO BE ANNOUNCED

 

Athletics Tasmania will announce its Athletes of the Year at its Annual Dinner in Launceston tomorrow (Saturday) evening.

 

The awards recognise high level achievement by Tasmania’s best athletes over the year from 1 April 2006 to 31 March 2007 and are made in the four standard senior competition age groups.

 

Former World Cross Country Champion, Benita Johnson, who holds every Australian record in distance from 2000 metres up to and including the marathon will be the guest speaker at the Dinner, which will also recognise officials, administrators and coaches, who have made significant contributions to Tasmanian athletics.

 

The athletes nominated are:

 

WOMEN
