HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL DIAMOND MILE
Mel Daniels was overwhelmed with attention at the 60th anniversary of the event after she took line honours in the Hong Kong International Diamond Mile.
“There were so many people out on the course in down town Hong Kong. Once I crossed the line, I did so many interviews, it was just such a big deal,” the Northern Suburbs runner said.
Daniels defeated an international field, in what was her first race outside of Australia.
Fellow Mike Pace trained athlete, Grant Page, was second in the international men’s race that was taken out by Tatsuro Okazaki of Japan, with Mervin Guarte from the Philippines third.
