Acknowledging Tasmania’s talent and potential at throwing a Javelin in excess of 70m is national youth coach Lindsay Burgoyne who will be on hand during the clinic on Saturday which begins at 11am and concludes at 4:30pm.

A throws competition will also take place on Sunday at 10am and will feature Australian Under 16 record holder Bianca Maurer along with fellow World Youth representatives Luke Bissett and Hamish Peacock.

TIS state performance coordinator Peter Fortune says “Tasmania is firmly placed on the map as a domestic throwing powerhouse.  This clinic is geared to helping some of Australia’s best young Javelin throwers to achieve their pre-departure performances before heading to Ostrava for the IAAF World Youth Championships beginning July 15.”
