TWO MORE MEDALS FOR TASSIE ATHLETES IN SYDNEY
Tasmanian athletes gathered another two bronze medals on day three of the Australian All Schools and Youth Athletics Championships in Sydney today.
James Guest (Newstead Harriers) was impressive in taking the third spot in a tough competition in the under 18 boys hammer. His best throw of 51.06 metres capped an impressive series of six throws and kept a group of challengers at bay. Chase Richardson (OVA) took the State’s second medal of the day when he finished third in the under 16 3000 metres race walk in a time of 14:16.57.
In addition to the medallists there were a further sixteen performances by Tasmanians in the top eight of their events on day three – a significant achievement:
