Season Opener hits the beach with force

The Graeme Cruise Memorial saw a 200+ turn out at the first cross country meet of the season on what was a beautiful saturday morning.

Winner of the womens event Donna Macfarlane showed her class crossing the line ahead of Northern Suburbs Mel Daniels, third place was filled by young runner Natasha Fitzpatrick.

The mens race was won by the hard working Phil McConnon who was able to narrowly out run the pair of Peter Kleywegt and David Smee finishing just 6 secs in front.

The next event sees runners take on the geilston bay relays on Saturday the 17th April and Round the River fun runs on Sunday the 18th April.
