Olympic Finalist to take Steeple Clinic

At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Youcef Abdi placed 6th in the men's 3000m steeplechase. 

It was the best placing by an Australian distance athlete at the Olympics in a long time and now Abdi is coming to Hobart.

The 2002 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist over 1500m, will race the the 1500m at the Briggs Athletics Classic on Friday February 12 and will then conduct a steeplechase clinic the following day at the Domain Athletics Centre.

Tasmanian athletes have had tremendous success nationally in the steeplechase and the event is one of the deepest amongst juniors in Tasmania.

The clinic will run on Saturday February 13 at the Domain Athletics Centre from 8:45am.

It is supported by the Tasmanian Institute of Sport, Riverside Athletics Club, Karhu and Athletics Tasmania.
