New Record to Ryan

Sandy' Bay athlete Ryan Foster has continued his impressive form in the USA, with a scorching run over 1000m at the weekend.

Competing at a Collegiate indoor meeting, for Penn State University where he is on scholarship, Foster clocked 2:19.60. 

His winning time was the second fastest ever for a collegiate runner in the USA, but more impressively, it was an Australian Indoor Record and Tasmanian 1000m record.

The previous Australian Indoor 1000m record was 2:20.30 seconds, set by Mark Fountain in 2005.

21 year old Foster has been in the USA since the middle of 2008.
