Peacock betters his own state record

19 Oct 2009

Hamish Peacock has continued his brilliant start to the 2009/2010 track & field season by setting a new personal best in the Javelin at interclub in Launceston yesterday.

The newsworthy thing about his personal best, is that he already held the Tasmanian open record, so he also eclipses that in the record books.

Peacocks best effort from the competition was 74.54 and gets him ever closer to that 75m barrier, which is the Commonwealth Games 'B' qualifying mark.  The throw elevates him to number 5 on the Australian open men rankings in 2009, but has him at number 1 since the Commonwealth Games qualifying period began.
