Fun Sticks Programme (Year 1 & 2)

Games at Marist Park 12th May – 11th August 2018

Come join the “Green Machine” and be one of our Future Sticks

This season we are introducing our New Fun Sticks Programme, Schools will make up their own Fun Sticks Teams

-  you choose your team name

- teams can be mixed with boys and girls

- teams can be mixed year groups Year 1 & 2

- teams ideally 7-9 Player             

If you do not have enough players from your school, we will set up a team for you


Marist Hockey Club will support a Coach to run a skills session during the week at your school, then on Saturday mornings you will be taken through a warm up, revise your weekly drill before playing 2 games in a FUN tournament.  Games will be between other Marist teams where our senior players will be on hand to assist your team.


Leading the programme is George Connell

George is a current Canterbury Cavaliers player and has represented New Zealand recently as a Black Stick.  Assisting George will be Ellen Crofts – Junior Club Co Ordinator, our top-level Marist players along with visits from Lesley Murdoch and Cathy Baker both X Olympian’s  


This will be held at Marist Park @ St Bedes (entrance off Momorangi Crescent) Saturday mornings 9.50-10.45 (Please be at the turf by 9.30 first session, then 9.40 thereafter)


Programme dates – 12th May 2018 – 11th August 2018

No sessions Queens Birthday weekend 2nd June 2018 and School Holiday 14th July 2018


Players will require mouth guard, shin pads, running shoes – hockey sticks can be provided on Saturday.  All players will receive a Marist Fun Sticks T-shirt and their team cap to keep


Subscriptions $70.00 for 12-week programme.  Sausage Sizzle each week.
