Working with Children Checks

The WWC Check applies to adults who work with children or are engaged in volunteer roles involving children (under 18 years of age). The WWC Check applicable in Victoria is the mandatory minimum standard for a range of child – related industries.

The WWC Check helps to protect children from sexual or physical harm by checking a person’s criminal history for serious sexual, serious violence or serious drug offences and findings from certain professional disciplinary bodies’ such as the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

Victorian Government through the Department of Justice has introduced the “Working with Children Act 2005,” which has distinct implications on the conduct of Little Athletics.

Ringwood Little Athletics Centre requires evidence of and maintains a register of Working with Children Checks for all our Committee members, Age Group Managers and Coaches.

Further information on the Working with Children Check is available on the Little Athletics Victoria website.
