At BSAC we offer two ways to go about trying archery. We have Come N Try Nights 3 times per year and New Archer Tryouts run 6 times a year and bookings are essential. Both are for individuals aged 8 and above.
If you have already tried archery or are an archer returning to the sport, you can have an assessment by one of our instructors and apply to become a full financial member on the spot.
In the New Archer Tryouts you will learn all about the correct techniques and methods to shoot archery accurately and safely, while having a fun and exciting experience.
We recommend all new archers complete the New Archer Tryouts with BSAC (or another registered archery club) before applying for full membership.
Come N Try Nights are a great way to try archery as a 'one-off' in a low-cost and safe manner. You will be shown the basic skills in order to safely shoot a bow and arrow.
The Come N Try Nights run on a Wednesday evening between 6-7pm, all equipment is supplied.
The session costs $25 per particpant.
To shoot in Australia you must be a member of a recognised archery associationPurchase or Renew Membership ?
New Archer Tryouts are run on a Saturday from 9am - 11am at the BSAC club grounds. It is tailored towards beginners who believe they may benefit from more than a 'one-off' archery experience.
The cost of the New Archer Tryout (NAT) are $45 per participant. This covers all equipment hire, training tips from our qualified instructors and temporary member affiliation fees for 6 weeks.
Additional visits during the 6 week temporary membership will cost $5 per visit or $7.50 per evening shoot in winter. (Please note: After 6 weeks, to continue as a full member of Archery Australia you will need to pay an annual association fee).
