What is something that a coach taught you that has stuck with you:  Never throw a ball unless you are going to get an out.

Favourite MLB Player: Andrew Benitendi

Level of baseball achieved: State League

Coaching Experience:  I have coached at State League for 4 years and SL2 for 3 years. Also coached 2 WA State teams at Australian Championships as well as numerous junior teams. This will be my third year coaching the Little League Eastern Phantoms.

Most Memorable baseball moment: Winning 4 consecutive State League premierships in the 90’s.

What is your best advice to up and coming baseballers: Be a good teammate, put in the effort and rewards will come.

What is something that a coach taught you that has stuck with you:  Effort, Attitude and Hard work will out play potential.

Who was your favourite Coach: Mathew Caple

Favourite MLB Team: New York Yankees

Favourite MLB Player: Derek Jeter

Level of baseball achieved: U/23 Nationals – State League / AAA

Coaching Experience:  Little League Head Coach – Assistant Coach for State League / AAA

Most Memorable baseball moment:

As a Player: Being part of the State League Premiership Squad, Winning 3 AAA Flags in a row and also winning the U23 National Championship.

As a coach: Winning our first game against what would end up being one the best sides in the comp and seeing the confidence and excitement it gave to those kids.

What is your best advice to up and coming baseballers: Work hard and focus on your game. Don’t worry about the noise around you and the things you can’t control. Most of all, HAVE FUN. 

 

Assistant Coach

Name: Leigh Moyle

Current Club: Perth Baseball Club and Eastern Phantoms 

At what age did you start playing baseball: 9 years

What is something that a coach taught you that has stuck with you:  Your Team is the First priority.

Who was your favourite Coach: Tom Treblehorn (Baltimore Orioles Big League Manager) also managed the Perth Heat in the 90's

Favourite MLB Team: New York Yankees

Favourite MLB Player: Peter Moylan?? ( followed very closely by Derek Jeter) 

Level of baseball achieved: Junior State rep 16's and 18',  State League, Claxton Shield and ABL. 

Coaching Experience:  Tball, Junior baseball Little League and Colts, AAA and State league level and State 18's 

Most Memorable baseball moment: Winning 5 State League premierships, a few AAA as well but the most Memorable to do with baseball was accidentally getting a clubhouse tour at Camden Yards.

What is your best advice to up and coming baseballers: You will fail in this game but its how you handle it that will determine how far you want to go in this game.

Coaching Experience:  Junior League Head Coach 2017, I have coached at club level for over 20 seasons that ranges from State League to Little League

Most Memorable baseball moment: Being selected to Officiate at a World Baseball Softball Confederation youth tournament, multiple times.

What is your best advice to up and coming baseballers: listen to your coaches

Coaching Experience:  Little League Charter Baseball in 2015 and Junior League Charter Baseball in 2017 plus multiple club coaching

Most Memorable baseball moment: Hitting Home Run in the Preliminary final to Tie up the game

What is your best advice to up and coming baseballers: do it because you want to do it

What is something that a coach taught you that has stuck with you:  Soft Hands and lay out for everything

Who was your favourite Coach: Mickey Riley

Favourite MLB Team: San Francisco Giants

Favourite MLB Player: Ken Griffey Jr

Level of baseball achieved: 6 State Junior Teams, WAIS 1988, 8 years State League

Coaching Experience:  5 years T Ball, 3 Junior Teams late 80’s, AAA’s 1994/95 and 1996/97, Assistant Coach MEBC JL 80’s, Assistant Coach JL Eastern Phantoms

Most Memorable baseball moment: Winning State League Gold Glove 1992/93 and hitting 2 home runs same game against Gosnells 1992/93 season

What is your best advice to up and coming baseballers: Listen to your coaches and trust that they want to help you improve and be the best player you can be.

Who was your favourite Coach: Hate to say it but I've learnt the most off my older brother I'm still learning from him as a coach

Level of baseball achieved: I haven't  achieved to much over my 30 odd years in and around the game other than making some really good friends

Coaching Experience:  2 years little league 3 years senior baseball

Most Memorable baseball moment:First time starting on the mound under lights at Parry Field in the Tommy Smith Cup in Under 17s
