Josh HARRIS - Marathon. Sunday 6 August 7:55pm (Tas)

Like many, Josh Harris started his athletics career with Little Athletics, competing for the North Launceston-White City Centre.  Josh's favourite events back then was the 800m & 1500m, events in which he still hold the club records for today.

Josh made his first state team in the U13's, going on to win National Junior medals and setting Tasmanian age records in Steeple.  A regular at Tasmanian Fun Run, Josh has shown his versatility by claiming Tasmanian Open titles in every distance from 1500m through to the Marathon.  The eighteen months leading up to the World Championships has been incredible for Josh, adding to his list of Tasmanian titles, breaking Australian Records through to landing himself in London to compete at the World Championships, check out his results below.

Stewart MCSWEYN - Steeple. Sunday 6 August 7:05pm (Tas)

From running around the paddocks as a child to becoming the King of King Island, Stewart McSweyn has notched up some impressive results along the way.

Stewart grew up on his parents farm on King Island, where he ran through the paddocks while making the occasional trip to mainland Tasmania to compete in the Schools Cross Country events.  Stewart represented our state at national events during Primary School, before enroling in boarding school in Victoria where he commenced running for Eureka Athletics Club.  Stewart first debuted on the Australian team in 2013 when selected to compete at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in the U20 division.

The benefits of a move to Melbourne to training with the Melbourne Track Club under the guidance of Nic Bideau has paid off in spayed for Stewart, with him improving across all dstances and making his second Australian team in under six months with him being making the team for the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in March.  Details of Stewarts incredible ride to London can be found below.

Hamish PEACOCK - Javelin. Friday 11 August 4:05am (Tas)

Hamish's love for Javelin started at Clarence Little Athletics Centre, where he and brother Huw dominated the throws records at both the Centre and at State level.  Hamish collected his first national medal in the U13 team, winning bronze at the Australian Little Athletics Champsionships.

Hamish went on to win numerous national Javelin titles as a junior atlhete, picking up minor medals along the way in both Shot Put & Discus and holds multiple Tasmanian records in all three throws.

Hamish made his debut on the Australian team for the 2007 World Youth Championships in Ostrava where he won Silver with a personal best throw of 76.31m.  Hamish has continued to wear the green and gold, representing Australia at the IAAF World Junior Championships in 2008(finalist), IAAF World Championships (2013 & 2015), Commonwealth Games 2014 (Bronze) and at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The past eighteen months have been solid for Hamish, a regular on the podium at the IAAF Diamond League meets and claiming back to back Australian Championships titles.  He enters the World Championships with a personal best of 84.39m, IAAF ranked 21st for 2017.

While he shy's away from the spotlight as much as possible, he has finally set himself up an Instagram account - even managed to get the blue tick of approval.  You can follow him @hamishpeacock
